Earn your JD in three years.
Complete your JD in three years and pursue the bar and your legal career on an accelerated timeline—without taking the traditional part-time route that can require four years or more.
Keep your life moving forward.
The Evening JD is designed for students balancing law school with work, family, childcare, military service, or other personal and professional commitments. You can pursue your JD while continuing to meet the responsibilities that matter most to you.
Prepare for the bar as part of your JD.
Most law graduates prepare for the bar after they finish law school, typically by taking an intensive commercial bar-prep course for about 8–10 weeks. That usually means putting work and other responsibilities on hold for a period of time after graduation.
This JD takes a different approach. You will begin preparing for the bar during law school, with 20 weeks of integrated bar preparation built into the JD curriculum. Instead of waiting until after graduation to start studying, you’ll develop the knowledge and skills needed for the bar while completing your degree.
A schedule you can plan around.
With a clearly defined nine-semester schedule, students know when classes begin, how courses are structured, when online semesters occur, and how many credits they will take during the fall, spring and summer. This predictability makes it easier to plan around work, family, childcare, and other commitments.
An on-campus law school experience with select online semesters.
Build relationships with faculty and classmates, engage in the law school community, and participate in hands-on learning through evening on-campus classes, complemented by strategically placed online semesters.
Support from enrollment through licensure.
Throughout the three-year program, students have access to academic support, career development, experiential learning opportunities, and integrated bar preparation designed to help them succeed in law school and prepare for the transition to the legal profession.
Our concentrations, certificate program, and dual-degree offerings are designed for students enrolled in the Full-Time Day JD program. The 3-Year Evening JD program follows its own focused, prescribed course of study.
