Distinguished Scholar Awards

Scholarship | $5,000 to $50,000 per year | Quinnipiac University

Distinguished Scholar Awards are offered to incoming students who will contribute to the broad diversity of the law school community. Diversity includes, but is not limited to, geographic background, race or ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, religion, sexual orientation, life and/or work experience, being a first-generation college student, or having overcome economic or social adversity.

Overview

Distinguished Scholar Awards range from $5,000 to $50,000 per year and are awarded on the merits of the applicant's entire admissions application with emphasis on undergraduate academic record, personal statement, LSAT score and potential to contribute to diversity on campus.

In awarding the scholarships, Quinnipiac University School of Law will engage in a highly individualized, holistic review of each applicant's file, giving serious consideration to all the ways an applicant might contribute to a diverse law school community. Scholarships are renewable each year if the recipient is in good academic standing.

The Scholarship Committee requests that you address in your personal statement, or in a separate addendum, how you would contribute to campus diversity.

Quinnipiac University School of Law strives to attain a student body that is both exceptionally academically qualified and broadly diverse to enrich its students' education. A diverse student body will result in livelier and more enlightening and interesting classroom discussion, promote understanding of people of different backgrounds and better prepare students for an increasingly diverse society.
